Editor's Note:
The Beijing Raptor Rescue Center (BRRC) released an Upland Buzzard, a nationally second-level protected animal, in the suburbs of Beijing on February 2, 2024. The bird was discovered by birdwatchers near a reservoir last December. Due to its extremely weakened condition, the bird underwent more than two months of treatment and rehabilitation at the BRRC. The Upland Buzzard has been equipped with a GPS tracker for monitoring its survival in the wild. On the same day, the BRRC also conducted a health examination for a recently rescued Saker Falcon.
